How long does it take to fall out of love? Contemporary Romance.
Liz falls in love with Quinn the moment they meet in college. He professes to love her, too. She begins to think about the future, but his past rips them apart. What Liz does next impacts the rest of their lives, but she feels it is the only way… she does it all for love.
This is my second time reading an Ann Swann Novel. First was ‘The Phantom Pilot’ - written for the young minds. I had thoroughly enjoyed reading it and so I had certain expectations from this book too.
‘All for Love’ is a story of a woman called Liz Rose. At a glance she has everything that one could ask for. A respectable career as a teacher, friends, a married and settled daughter and a handsome husband – she has it all. Its only when her husband dies, that her carefully put up façade starts to crack to reveal her flaws and mistakes not only to the people around her, but also to herself. What will Liz do when she can no longer ignore her problems and can no longer live in the illusion of a perfect world that she had created?
This is a book that will take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride. Thanks to the Author’s awesome characterization, as a reader I felt ‘connected’ to Lizzie. She is one imperfect character and it is her flaws/imperfections that made her all the more real to me. The story is narrated by Liz and maybe that’s why it easier to connect to her. There’s quite a bit of ‘flashbacks’ and Liz takes us back and forth to her past and present and this aspect actually helps us relate to what she is feeling.
The plot is simple yet tackles a few social issues as well. It is sure to make you ponder on a few points well after you have put down the book. Ms.Swann’s style of writing is simply brilliant. Smooth flow in her story telling kept me stuck to the book and turning pages till I finished reading it in one sitting.
‘The Phantom Pilot’ and ‘All for Love’ are two completely different stories of different genres and yet Ms.Swann has shined through in both the cases simply because it feels like she isn’t trying to sell a book but trying to tell a story from her heart.
Do I recommend it? Yes Ofcourse!
